Specialized Resources
Dear Members of the Connecticut College Community,
I write today on behalf of the Board of Trustees to update you on the process for selecting the 12th President of Connecticut College, someone who will build on the many strengths of this institution.
As you know, President Bergeron’s tenure will end in June. During her nearly 10 years of service, she has been a tireless champion of the College, considerably strengthening Conn’s academic, residential, community, and financial resources. We are grateful for her vision and commitment and now look forward to finding our next leader.
In accordance with past practices, the search for the 12th President will be conducted by a committee composed of trustees, faculty, staff, and students. Over the last month, the Board has been in communication with faculty, staff, and student leaders, who have now chosen, through their own internal processes, representatives to serve on the Presidential Search Committee. I am pleased to announce today the 2023 Presidential Search Committee:

I want to thank the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their willingness to commit to what will be considerable time and effort for the benefit of the College. The Presidential Search Committee will convene this month and be supported throughout the process by Secretary of the College Lauren Middleton.
The Board has also begun the process of selecting an Interim President, who will lead the College upon President Bergeron’s departure. The Interim President will serve until the appointment of the College’s 12th President. We have engaged a search firm with expertise in interim searches and will announce the Interim President before the end of June.
During this time of transition, we appreciate the support of the Conn community and will continue to be guided by the mission and values of Connecticut College.
Cordially,
Debo P. Adegbile
Chair, Board of Trustees
