A student who is graduating, transferring, or will be enrolled less than half time will be required to participate in a loan counseling session. Detailed information is sent to exiting students that includes the following:
- Repayment terms
- Consequences of default
- Debt management strategies
- Availability of a student's loan information on the Federal Student Aid System
- Services available from the Federal Student Aid Ombudsperson and how to contact this department
Students who are taking a leave from the College or enrolling less than half time are encouraged to arrange for an individual appointment with a financial aid counselor.
An exit counseling session is required for each type of federal loan.
