Five earn All-NESCAC honors at women’s swimming conference championships
Five members of the women’s swim team were named to the All-NESCAC Team for standout performances at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Middlebury College Feb. 13-16.
Vaughn Ammon ’22, Brynn Campbell ’21, Maddie Ford ’21 and Anika Svoboda ’23 placed third in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:26.80, which earned them All-NESCAC honors and provisionally qualified the relay team for the NCAA Championships.
Ammon also placed second in the 100 Free. She finished with a time of 51.21, an NCAA provisional qualifying time.
Rounding out the All-NESCAC team is Tiernan Shea ’23, who placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.27 seconds. She also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the event.
Overall, the team finished sixth at the championships.
Six members of the team will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which will take place March 18-21 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Ammon, Campbell, Ford, Andrea Higgins '21, Shea and Svoboda will collectively comprise five relay squads at the event. Additionally, Ammon and Ford will compete in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free; Shea will compete in the 100 back, 200 back and 100 fly; and Higgins will compete in the 200 fly.
