Two compete in NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Tarvis Hintlian ’21 and Matt Carter ’23 both notched top 15 finishes at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week.
Hintlian finished 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the women’s championship meet on Friday afternoon, hitting the tape in 11:17.13. The race marked the end to a very successful return season for the Camel women's outdoor track & field program. Hintlian established Conn’s record in the steeplechase as a sophomore in 2019 and this season lowered the mark to 10:55.27. She also ran the 800-meter leg for the distance medley relay team which set a school record with a time of 13:00.03 in the team’s final home meet.
Carter finished 15th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:30.57 at the men’s championship on Thursday evening. He was the first Camel student-athlete in any sport to compete at an NCAA Championship event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
