The Connecticut College Orchestra will perform music heard in the popular Golden Globe-winning show “Mozart in the Jungle.”

Conducting will be Mark Seto, an assistant professor of music at the College and conductor of The Chelsea Symphony, one of the orchestras that provided on-screen musicians for the popular show. The half-hour comedic show will begin its third season on Amazon Prime on Dec. 9.
Describing the evening’s musical selections, including W.A. Mozart's “Overture to The Magic Flute,” Franz Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, and Arturo Márquez's “Danzón No. 2,” Seto said that the Schubert and Márquez pieces were featured in “Mozart in the Jungle” and the Mozart and Schubert pieces are classics of orchestral literature. The Márquez, a contemporary Mexican work, was popularized by Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela.
Tickets are $5; seniors and students, $3. Connecticut College faculty, staff and students are free.
